The Vietnamese Embassy in Germany will confirm the place of birth to produce a new model passport for citizens to remove obstacles on visa regulations.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Germany today announced on the website that will give free confirmation in German to give birth to a passport, in order to create conditions for citizens to make a residence permit and operating procedures.

The requester needs to have an application and present the proof of the place of birth such as a birth certificate or a passport, a notice.

The Vietnamese Embassy said the authorities of the two countries are actively exchanging to remove problems related to the temporary Germany not recognizing the new passport model of Vietnam.

The announcement came after the German Embassy in Vietnam on July 27 said that the people who carry the popular Vietnamese -purple passport in the new form with the serial number started with the letter P will not be able to submit the application.

This agency explained that the new Vietnamese passport of Vietnam has not been recognized by Germany and cannot grant visas due to lack of information about the place of birth, making it difficult for the process of checking and verifying.

The passport remains the same size, the width of 88 mm, 125 mm long and is about 0.75 mm thick, but the color on the cover is changed to green purple.

Type C visa (also known as Schengen Visa) allows entry into one of the 26 countries of the Schengen and freely moving in the territory of the remaining 25 countries without having to conduct any additional procedures.

Meanwhile, Type D visa (or national visa) is granted by the Embassy or Consulate in Vietnam, allowing freedom to travel in 25 Schengen internal countries with a maximum stay.

Vietnam is cooperating with Germany to find solutions to remove difficulties, after Germany stops granting a visa for Vietnam's new model passport.

The Embassy of Germany said that the new Vietnamese passport was lacking information in the birthplace, making it difficult for the process of checking and verifying, so it is impossible to issue a visa.
